Bing’s Webmaster Guidelines touch on things like links and social media in very general terms, and go into a bit more depth on SEO and technical website topics. But they aren’t nearly as detailed nor comprehensive as what Google offers, and according to Bing’s announcement, that’s by design right now.

Changes should be infrequent as these current Webmaster Guidelines cover most major topics. They are not exhaustive and you should not expect to find deep, technical answers in them. They are intended to help most business owners understand the broad strokes of search marketing.

Bing does offer much more detailed information for webmasters in its Webmaster FAQs (PDF), a document that can be downloaded from the Bing Webmaster Tools home page.

On a related note, Bing says it’s also planning to conduct six free webmaster webinars between now and February covering topics like SEO 101, Crawling Basics, Authority Building and more. The full list is available in Bing’s announcement.
