Shopping Ads will appear along with the Google Lens visual search results, which are also getting a new design today.
Shopping ads will appear above and alongside Lens’ visual search results before the end of 2024, Google announced today.
What it looks like. Google shared an example showing a search result someone would see when shopping for a green backpack using Lens. A searcher can tap the Lens icon in the search bar and then take or upload a photo to find out more about any product.
By the numbers. According to Google:
- Of the 20 billion monthly Lens searches, 4 billion are related to shopping.
- Google’s Shopping Graph has information about more than 45 billion products.

New Lens Search results. Google today is launching a new results page today for iOS and Android devices in select countries. It will show product information, such as:
- Reviews.
- Price comparisons across retailers.
- Where to buy.
